(as Holly from Dozing Green)
Starbucks was always something interesting to watch. Well, not the actual store itself, but the people who came in and went out. There were just so many different types of people who went in there; it was very exciting for Holly to watch. She had wandered into the station not long ago and had peered through the different shop windows at the people inside. If anyone had noticed Holly peeping into the shops, they had just figured it was a little kid thing. Little kids did things like that on a regular basis.
But Holly did notice that a great many more people went into the Starbucks than the other places. She did know that buying coffee was very popular amongst the grownups. But why, Holly could not guess. She could smell the coffee beans from where she was, but didn't find the scent all that attractive. While there had been people in there, Holly had snuck in and sat in the corner. She then had watched them all with great interest.
There were a good majority of teenagers in the line, chatting animatedly. There were some business men, talking hurriedly on their cell phones and clutching their brief cases. Holly had been in a cell phone store before. She had wanted to take a closer look at the devices that had been resting on the counters, but found that she was too short to reach them. So, she had been forced to leave with disappointment. As Holly watched the men on their phones, she wondered what they were talking about. Sure, the small cat spirit had sharp ears, the droning from all the others in line kept her from hearing their conversations. Oh well. From what Holly had learned in this world, eavesdropping was a rude thing to do.
Gradually, the coffee shop emptied out leaving Holly and a teenage boy in the shop. She looked at him with interest; she could faintly hear music coming from him. He had one of those coffees, of course, and he looked very content with himself.
