TODAY. I was upstairs with my mom when my dad calls up to me saying that there was a little friend outside who wanted to meet me. O: Who could it be, I wondered. So, my mom and I padded downstairs and went out to the back yard. What did we see?  A baby turtle! And what a cute little thing he was!  So that he didn't get stepped on, I put him in a little thing of water.  He swam laps! He was happy!  Sir Froderick The Green, you are no longer with us, but you will forever be remembered. |

Ohoho, this gentle sir has been relocated into a charming tub that was once used by a gent who ran a fish shop! Fishies were once transported in this, and it is suitable for this little sir until we acquire a twenty-gallon tank.  Nana and Sir are both v. receptive to this new friend, going so far as to helping me find appropriate containers, and supplying basking rocks for him! Sir was super pleased to see him, calling him "so cute" and "pretty." A closeup of Sir Froderick! He lives on the table on my back porch now. The second picture won't send from my phone? D; So, uh. There you go. |

GENTLEMEN. someone set us up the bomb
Lord Froderick the Green has been moved into his cozy new five-gallon tank. ♥♥ Here's the tank! This is with the flash on, so you can see where it is and how it looks and all that. A good tank! It's small, but for such a little turtle, he doesn't need a whole lot of room yet. The tank is on a table to the left of my computer desk, so I can watch him while I'm doing the internets and make sure he's comfortable. Here's the tank without the flash! So you can see how brilliantly the light shines and how the little gentleman gets to live during the day. His light goes off at night so he can sleep, but it stays on from the morning until I go to bed. It keeps the ambient air warm, and helps to give him a spot to warm up and bask. You can see the heater in the rear left corner, and the thermometer in the front right. If you squint, you can see tiny Froderick over in the corner by the thermometer, too! Froderick's royal lily pad! Here's his basking floatie! I haven't seen him get on it yet, because we replaced a bigger one that he's gotten on before with this smaller one that actually fits. So I've been checking in on him frequently to see if the little sir can get on. OKAY, GENTLEMEN. HERE IS FRODERICK, LOOKING GORGEOUS AND BUBBLY AND NOBLE. Fuck yeah, bitches.  |
