Character
Given Name: Reika
Surname: Nomura
Date of Birth: January 3
Age: 17
Lineage: Half-Blood
Face/Celebrity Claim: Airi Suzuki
Physical Description: Reika has a cute, round face with dark brown, almond-shaped eyes congruent with her Japanese heritage. Her ears are a little big and stick out a bit, but her hairstyles usually make up for it. Her hair is straight and black and usually up in a messy side something. Her mother always jokes that she has a cat's mouth, as her thin lips sometimes appear to be oddly shaped. She's a little short for her age but she just likes to think it makes her cuter.
Character History: Reika was born in the country of Nippon (Japan) and moved to England when she was five years old because her father-a Muggle businessman-got an important job offer that required transfer. Her mother was a witch who had grown up in and inherited her father's old-fashioned Aikido dojo. When she made the move to England, she gave the Dojo to her sister. The area they moved to was a muggle suburb, but Reika's mother charmed the basement to look and feel like an above-ground dojo just like the one they left behind. She insists that Reika and her little brother study with her and practice every they they're at home.
When Reika was ten and a half she received her letter from Hogwarts and her parents could keep her still for a whole month, she was so excited! She insisted on going out and buying her books as soon as her parents let her and her brother smiled and looked forward to his letter. While her parents went off to buy her boring things, like books and extra quills and parchment, Reika went to the Menagerie. While she was there, amid the squawking, meowing, shrieking and screeching, she found a little black "Lesser Sooty Owl" and fell in love with it. She named him Archimedes.
Her first year of Hogwarts was exciting for her. She made some really great friends and was sorted into Gryffindor to her great excitement (of course, she would have been excited no matter what house she would have been sorted into, but she likes to think she wouldn't have been AS excited.)
In school Reika did moderately well in some classes more than others and had a hard time sitting still. Where she truly excelled was Quidditch. She was a superb Chaser, though she toyed with the idea of being a Seeker for a while, she decided it was too boring to spend most of the game floating about looking for a tiny gold thing. No, Chasing was where the action was and that was her passion. She did well in hands-on classes like Potions, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, but did poorly in abstract, purely book-learning classes like History of Magic and Arithmancey. (she took one class and immediately switched out.)
Reika was in her third year when the battle between Potter and You-Know-Who came to the school and she proved to herself why she'd been sorted into Gryffindor. As they gathered all of the students, she found a group of first years who had been separated from the rest. In the hubbub her attempts to alert someone were lost on the adults and prefects and she was forced (in her mind) to take action. She left the group and went after where she knew the first years would be. She protected them from the crumbling walls of the tower beside the section of the castle they were in and ultimately save their lives, eventually bringing them back to the rest of the school.
Since then, she's been going about her life as normally as she can possibly manage. She's always helped the people around her and gives them hope when she can. She believes that hope is the only way to battle war.
School
Year: 7
House:Gryffindor
Personality&Quirks
Likes: Quidditch, flying, helping people, candy, clothing/fashion, international interests and facts, music, the merging of Muggle and Wizarding lifestyles and hairstyles.
Dislikes: Rudeness, meat pies, wartime, despair, being bored and people who take things too seriously..
Personality Sketch: Reika is a true optimist, cheerful because she believes good things can still happen, and because she knows that hope is the only way to survive a war with your humanity intact. She's cheerful not only for herself, but for others. Altruistic and competitive, Reika tries very hard to keep herself level, but everything she feels is so big and so real it tends to bubble over. On the rare occasion that the sadness is what overflows she tries to hide it but it can be so overwhelming it can last days. These occasions are rare and she llikes to pretend they don't happen.
Quirks: Reika can be a little hyper so she gets antsy when made to sit for long periods of time and occasionally mixes some Japanese into her speech like she mixes English into her Japanese when she's in Japan visiting family. When she gets really excited, she switches over entirely.
The War
Affiliation: Pro-Order
Why: Reika likes life and thinks everyone else probably does too so they should be allowed to live.

(AS XIANGLIAN ZHEN)
Xianglian Zhen was not fond of the misfits under her command. She was unimpressed by them and grew tiresome of the insanity. There were few of the Guard who were really ideal in any sense. She longed for an attuned wizard, skilled and obedient, a proper warrior to lead by example. Not a bunch of lunatics who are much fonder of killing with their hands than with their wands.
Unfortunately for Ms. Zhen, she was not about to run into the best of the worst. She was about to stumble upon one of the more insane of the ragtag group of murderers who called themselves Red-Masked Guards. She sighed inwardly and looked thoroughly annoyed-as usual- as she walked up to Edward.
"Mr. Edward....I would you care to explain to me what you're doing and reassure me that you do not have any intention of defacing that...thing." She gestured lazily to the fountain.
The only reason she even tolerated Edward's lunacy was his ability and willingness to follow orders. He never gave back talk and never had to be told twice..usually. She didn't care that it was loyalty to the Dark Lord and indifference towards her. In fact, that was the way things SHOULD be. Instead the new recruits were all.....She had to stop thinking about it before she started taking it out on Edward. It wasn't worth it.
